Carmen joined the Edmonton office of Parlee McLaws as an associate lawyer in 2015, following the completion of her articles with the firm. Carmen’s practice focuses on immigration, real estate and a variety of corporate/commercial matters. Carmen has experience in drafting a variety of agreements and legal documents such as shareholder agreements, sale/purchase agreements, preparing business and individual immigration applications, commercial and residential real estate transactions, assisting with securities and commercial transactions, and other matters including incorporations and work with not-for-profit corporations and societies.

Carmen graduated from the J.D. program at the University of Alberta and participated in a semester exchange to the Faculty of Law of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). She also obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta in Chinese Language and Literature and East Asian Studies, which included the completion of a semester abroad at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.

In addition to English, Carmen is fluent in Cantonese, conversational in Mandarin, and has studied basic Korean.
