Experience

Shawn practices in civil litigation, construction, and insurance litigation. Prior to and during law school, he worked in commercial construction on large-scale projects in both general and subcontractor roles. That experience gives him a practical understanding of the demands and complexities behind construction disputes, and the many considerations that can sit behind a legal issue.

Shawn is drawn to matters that call for creative solutions and careful consideration of the options available. His approach is proactive and practical, with an emphasis on developing a thorough understanding of an issue at the outset before determining the best way forward.

Prior to law school, Shawn also helped his former employer enter the nature-based play industry, a developing market in western Canada. The experience gave him a firsthand look at the challenges of expanding into an emerging area of business.
