Our firm hires two to three law students who have completed their first year of law school for our Calgary office only.The program is designed to have the students work an eight-hour day. There is no billable time requirement. The primary objective is to introduce the students to the day-to-day practice of law and to Parlee McLaws LLP.Our students are given a wide range of legal assignments similar in nature to those in our articling program. Senior lawyers are appointed as mentors to assist students through the three to four months of employment and give them exposure to our key practice areas. Informal performance evaluations are provided.Historically, many of our summer students return as articling students and then continue their legal career as associate lawyers and partners of Parlee McLaws LLP.Our Articling Committee will conduct virtual interviews the week of February 16 to 19, 2021.
