What we do for our Aviation clients

Our Aviation lawyers work closely with a broad range of clients, including individuals, domestic and foreign air carriers, aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities, lenders/borrowers, lessors/lessees, buyers/sellers, and institutional clients. We guide our clients through the full spectrum of aviation transactions and regulatory compliance, including the establishment and merger of commercial air services, both in Canada and abroad, the sale, purchase, leasing, charter and financing of commercial, business and personal aircraft, aircraft registration and de-registration. We get things done, quickly and efficiently. Our goal is always to help you do what you do best – get people, equipment and goods where they need to go to get the job done.

Our Aviation team is actively involved with several industry groups and organizations, and understands the challenges and emerging issues our clients deal with. We are recognized nationally and internationally for our knowledge in various areas of aviation law.

How we work with our clients

We focus on creating long-term relationships with our clients – relationships built on responsiveness, trust and respect. We respect your time and resources, and use both effectively to develop strategic solutions that keep your business moving. As part of the broader Parlee McLaws firm, we can also draw upon expertise and experience to provide a range of legal services and advice on the legal issues facing your organization. Our Intellectual Property (IP) group is one of Western Canada’s largest, and is skilled at helping clients secure, protect and commercialize innovations and inventions.

Parlee McLaws is a Professional User Entity (PUE) under the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment (Cape Town Convention) and the Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on matters specific to Aircraft Equipment (Aircraft Protocol). We have many years’ experience in processing searches and registrations with the International Registry established under the Cape Town Convention and the Aircraft Protocol and have a dedicated International Registry Administrator. We not only offer PUE services to process individual aircraft related transactions for our clients, but are able to serve as an IR Administrator for our clients as Transacting User Entities with the International Registry.
