What we do for Arbitration & Mediation clients
Our arbitrators are experienced in conducting arbitrations in a wide variety of contexts including arbitrations pursuant to the Arbitration Act of Alberta, and the International Commercial Arbitration Act. Our arbitrators routinely act as sole arbitrators, panel members, and panel chairs.
Our arbitrators’ experience includes all manner of contractual disputes, including construction, shareholder, commercial landlord and tenant, and insurance coverage disputes. In addition, our arbitrators have experience in conducting arbitrations arising pursuant to various statutes.
When retained, our arbitrators work with the parties to achieve a timely and cost effective result to the dispute.
We also provide mediation services. One member of our group has in excess of 20 years’ experience and training in conducting mediations in a wide variety of practice areas. Since 2002 he has been designated by the ADR Institute of Canada as a Chartered Mediator. He is also able to offer services to clients utilizing various mediation styles (such as facilitative and evaluative mediations), depending on the needs of the parties and the nature of the dispute.
We are members of the ADR Institute of Alberta (ADRIA), the ADR Institute of Canada (ADRIC) and the Western Canadian Commercial Arbitration Society. Our firm also has the physical facilities to conduct effective mediation and arbitrations, including large and comfortable boardrooms and break out rooms.
