Experience

Before going to law school, Rhiannon held various positions in research labs and completed an M.Sc. in Neuroscience. Along the way, she also dedicated time to educating others about the field of science.  This combination of technical knowledge and teaching experience makes her the ideal choice to assist start-up businesses and SMEs, particularly in the life sciences industry, understand and navigate the various intellectual property issues that are vital to growth.

Rhiannon enjoys working closely with clients, unraveling the complexities of their technologies and developing IP strategies to provide clients with a roadmap to building a strong IP foundation and plan for future growth. Her goals are for clients to have a clear understanding of their current and potential IP so that they can focus on their technology, knowing they have a solid plan for protecting their innovations.

While having a background in life sciences, she also works with clients and technologies that span a range of industries, including oil and gas, earthmoving, clean tech, biotech, medical devices, eHealth and consumer products.

Outside the office, Rhiannon volunteers as a Board Member of BioAlberta and on the executive committee of the Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society, a vital part of the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, which raises funds that support various projects and needs of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women in Edmonton.
