If you have at least 5 years of legal assistant experience in a Corporate / Commercial practice, then the next step in your career could be with Parlee McLaws LLP in our downtown Edmonton office where we work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

You are a self-starter with high attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and excellent organizational skills to support busy practices.

Key requirements:

Highly organized and pro-active approach to meeting deadlines while producing accurate quality work
Substantial reliability and adaptability accompanied by a professional demeanor and conduct
Read, write, and speak English fluently, with solid spelling and grammar skills (additional language skills are an asset)
• Strong client service and relationship building skills
Intermediate to advanced knowledge MS Office Suite with knowledge of other software being an asset (e.g. Worldox, 3E Elite, ALF, CORES, SPIN2, Remindex, SpeechExec, FoxIt, etc.)
• Experience with preparation of accounts, billing, and time entry with solid understanding of basic accounting principles

Other requirements:

• Post-secondary education from a recognized Legal Assistant/Paralegal program (equivalent experience may be considered)
• Experience with digital document and email filing systems
• Keen attention to detail in producing accurate, high-quality work
• Effectively adapt and work with changing priorities in a high-volume work environment
• Work effectively with corporate paralegals in adhering to legal requirements and processes
• Problem-solving skills with a pro-active mindset
• Quick learner who is curious and retains knowledge
