Experience

Nicole joined Parlee McLaws as an associate in 2021 after the completion of her articles with the firm. With a passion for dispute resolution, Nicole relishes a challenge and readily approaches opportunities to delve into new areas of law. Her background in Psychology and Philosophy provides her the tools to understand the interpersonal dynamics of disputes and problem solve in creative ways.

Nicole has represented her clients before the Alberta Court of Justice, Court of King’s Bench, and various administrative bodies. Nicole has a particular interest in labour, employment, and human rights and has experience representing a variety of clients, from individuals to large corporations.

During law school, Nicole was a research assistant for several professors and prepared legal research on complex contracts and criminal law issues. She also spent a semester working full-time at The Law Centre, a Victoria-based low income legal aid clinic, where she worked on a broad range of files including human rights, family law, criminal law, and civil litigation. During this time, she acted as the primary liaison for the William Head Institution’s inmate legal clinic.

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys camping, creative writing, and spending time with her family and one-eyed cat, Loki.
