Experience

Lauren is a civil litigator whose practice focuses primarily on insurance defence. Before joining Parlee McLaws, Lauren gained valuable litigation experience at Queen’s Legal Aid, representing individuals before the Small Claims Court, Ontario Court of Justice, and Landlord and Tenant Board. She subsequently completed her articles at a Toronto firm with a busy insurance defence practice, where she further developed her advocacy skills and deepened her understanding of litigation strategy, court procedures, and risk assessment through involvement in numerous trials and contested matters.

Lauren values clear and consistent communication with her clients. She takes the time to understand each client’s objectives and to keep them informed about developments in their files. She also strives to make legal issues understandable and to ensure that clients have a clear sense of the options available to them. She approaches each matter with care and attention to detail, considering the law and evidence closely while working toward practical solutions. Where a matter calls for a different perspective, she enjoys exploring creative approaches and arguments.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys travelling, skiing, and hockey. She remains firmly convinced that the Toronto Maple Leafs will win the Stanley Cup one day and is an enthusiastic Stephen King reader.
