Experience Professional Activities Awards Community ExperienceKimberly practises labour and employment law, advising employers and employees on dismissal planning, wrongful dismissal litigation, and human rights complaints. She also helps employers draft and implement employment contracts, policies, and other HR matters. In her insurance practice, Kimberly works with professional regulators and specialty insurers on matters that often fall outside the standard playbook, including professional negligence, subrogation, and product liability. Her broader litigation experience spans insurance, commercial, construction, employment, and administrative law. Called to the Bar in both Alberta and British Columbia, Kimberly has insurance litigation experience in both jurisdictions and has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. She joined Parlee McLaws after practicing with an international law firm in Calgary. She is particularly drawn to technically demanding files where the details are decisive. Regulators facing novel enforcement questions, insurers dealing with unusual claims, and parties to disputes where the facts are genuinely complicated can benefit from her analytical rigour and real curiosity. She brings both to each file, working through the hard questions rather than around them. Clients appreciate Kimberly’s transparency, integrity, and straightforward advice. She is committed to helping clients understand both the opportunities and challenges presented by a matter so they can make informed decisions with confidence. In addition to practicing law, Kimberly is a graduate student in the University of Alberta Master of Laws program with a focus on constitutional law. When she entered the LL.M program, Kimberly received numerous awards for academic excellence including the N. D. McDermid Graduate Scholarship in Law, the Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship awarded by the Government of Alberta, and the prestigious Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship awarded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Counsel of Canada. Her graduate studies reflect the same analytical mindset and academic rigour that inform her work with clients. Outside the office, Kimberly enjoys travelling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
