Parlee McLaws LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team in our downtown Calgary office. The successful candidate is a self-starter with high attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills that will effectively support two or more lawyers with busy litigation practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and organize physical and digital file systems to ensure efficient management of client communications, records, and documentation Proactively manage timelines of tasks and files to ensure the team meets required statutes of limitations and deadlines Conduct due diligence searches, if required Prepare, draft, and compile a range of correspondence, legal documentation, pleadings, and court filings Prepare client accounts, follow up on A/R status including collection of accounts Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs as well as other software such as Worldox, Elite 3E, Remindex, SpeechExec, FoxIt, or similar programs Other tasks as required; including support of other team members when needed Qualifications A minimum of 5 years of experience in general litigation Highly organized and pro-active approach to meeting deadlines while producing accurate quality work Strong client service and relationship building skills Substantial reliability and adaptability accompanied by a professional demeanor and conduct Works efficiently as a part of a team or independently Readily adapts and works effectively with changing priorities in a high-volume work environment Compensation, Benefits, and Perks Compensation for this role aligns with the required experience.
