Experience

Jim is an associate lawyer at Parlee McLaws whose practice focuses on commercial and residential real estate, corporate and business law, and wills and estates. He prioritizes clear communication and an organized, responsive approach, ensuring clients feel informed and supported throughout the legal process.

In his real estate practice, Jim advises purchasers, sellers, lenders, builders, and developers on property acquisitions and sales, financing, leasing, land assembly, subdivision, re‑zoning, development approvals, and public‑ and private‑sector projects.

He supports individuals, non‑profits, and businesses of all sizes with incorporations, purchases and sales of businesses, business structuring, governance, and a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. His work includes reorganizations, amalgamations, restructurings, shareholder and stock option agreements, non‑competition and confidentiality agreements, financing transactions, and the preparation, review, and negotiation of a broad variety of corporate and commercial agreements.

Jim’s estate planning practice focuses on developing tailored strategies and preparing key planning documents, including wills, powers of attorney, and personal directives.

Outside the office, Jim can often be found in the Rocky Mountains—hiking, trail running, biking, or skiing with his border collie, Rocky.
