Experience

Coltyn joined Parlee McLaws in 2025, bringing with him experience from both large national and smaller boutique firms. Coltyn has represented a diverse range of clients at all levels of court in Alberta as well as before administrative bodies such as the Albera Labour Relations Board and the Alberta Human Rights Commission. These experiences have cultivated his passion for delivering advocacy and advice which is pragmatic, effective, and accessible.

In addition to practicing law, Coltyn believes strongly in volunteerism. Most recently, he served on the board of directors of Safelink Alberta, a non-profit organization which provides education and resources to several underserved populations in both Calgary and Medicine Hat. Additionally, during law school, he volunteered as the project leader of The Consent Project, a program wherein law students deliver presentations to high schools on the topic of consent.

Outside of his professional activities, you’ll find Coltyn playing hockey and golf, cooking for friends and family, or cracking open a fantasy novel.
