Experience

Counsel with the firm’s Calgary office, Mr. Pieschel has extensive experience in complex corporate, commercial and oil and gas litigation at all levels of Court in Alberta, including the Alberta Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. He has acted as lead counsel in a variety of cases concerning corporate, commercial and oil and gas disputes such as split title and solution gas ownership and AFE and supplemental AFE liability under CAPL. He has also acted as counsel in many cases in the pension planning area dealing with surplus ownership from the standpoint of both the corporation, trust company and as an amicus curiae to the Court.

Over the years Mr. Pieschel has put his business training and experience to extensive use as counsel in a variety of cases concerning securities law, shareholder and business disputes, oppression remedies, competition matters and intellectual property. He has also participated in corporate and partnership mediations, arbitrations and dispute resolution.
