Terry’s practice is devoted primarily to patent prosecution, but also includes other areas of intellectual property law including trademark prosecution, licensing, copyright and industrial design protection.

His patent prosecution practice is focused on inventions relating to mechanical, chemical, civil and materials engineering. He has extensive experience in obtaining patents in the resource industries, including oil and gas exploration, drilling and production, oil sand extraction and processing, heavy oil upgrading, coal processing and forestry and he also has experience in obtaining patents for inventions relating to electrical engineering and biotechnology.

Terry has considerable experience in negotiating and drafting agreements pertaining to research and development (R&D) and licensing and has engineering related work experience in the areas of surveying, materials engineering and construction.
