Richard joined Parlee McLaws LLP as an associate in 2015 following the completion of his articles with the firm. During his articling year, Richard’s experience included corporate law, oil and gas law, construction law, labour and employment law, commercial real estate law, condominium law, intellectual property law, securities law, general civil litigation, insurance defence, and commercial litigation. He has represented clients before the Provincial Court and the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta.

Prior to Richard’s legal studies in Common and Civil Law he worked with an oil and gas construction firm supervised directly by general counsel, he received a B.A. from McGill University in East Asian Studies and Economics, and while on an extensive language exchange in China Richard started and operated a restaurant and bar consulting service leading up to the 2008 Olympics where he volunteered with the Canadian Olympic Committee.
