Nancy is a lawyer with Parlee McLaws, in Calgary, where she focuses her practice on securities, construction, and oil and gas law. She is respected for her wide-ranging experience, consummate knowledge and effective advice and representation, especially when it comes to public offerings of established corporations, junior issuers and partnerships. Her involvement with listed companies includes reorganizations and takeovers, domestic and international private placements, Canadian and U.S. debt transactions, asset acquisitions and dispositions and plans of arrangement.

Nancy has astutely assisted clients in developing strategies to protect shareholder value, and works with clients to assure ongoing compliance with the requirements of securities regulatory authorities. She also advises on governance matters.

Nancy has notable experience in the oil and gas area, structuring transactions involving domestic and offshore properties. This often involves the formation and financing of limited partnerships and joint ventures. She negotiates and structures the purchase and sale of oil and gas properties, and creates and reviews contracts for the operation of facilities and other joint ownership arrangements.

Nancy works with clients in negotiating, drafting and interpretation of construction contracts, with particular emphasis on construction in the oil sands industry.
