Michelle joined Parlee McLaws LLP as an associate after completing her articles with the firm in 2011. Michelle maintains a general litigation practice, with a focus on commercial and intellectual property litigation. In this regard, Michelle has experience in copyright matters, trademark prosecutions and trademark opposition proceedings, as well as in builders’ lien and employment litigation matters. She has appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, and the Federal Court of Canada, as well as representing clients in matters before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the Alberta Appeals Commission. Finally, Michelle was also involved in a trademark infringement matter that was before the Federal Court of Appeal in 2015.

In addition to this advocacy experience, Michelle is regularly involved in alternative dispute resolution in order to effectively conclude matters for her clients, including mediation and judicial dispute resolution.

While attending law school, Michelle was the recipient of a number of awards recognizing her for academic achievements and student involvement.
