Filippo joined Parlee McLaws as an associate in 2017 following the completion of his articles with the firm. During his articling year, Filippo garnered experience in insurance litigation, general civil litigation, commercial litigation, and labour and employment matters. Filippo has represented clients before the Provincial Court and the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta.
Prior to commencing his legal studies, Filippo received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Calgary. He also volunteered for the Elizabeth Fry Society of Calgary in Youth Criminal Court and Family Justice Services at the Calgary Courts Centre. During law school, Filippo completed an internship with the Ghana Center for Democratic Development in Accra, Ghana, where he conducted research on Ghanaian constitutional law, and oil and gas legislation. He also completed an internship with the Alberta Human Rights Commission, and worked for the Centre for Constitutional Studies where he wrote articles on constitutional law issues for the general public.
