Peter has practised as a patent and trademark lawyer for 50 years. He has prepared and prosecuted to issuance over 500 patent cases at the Canadian, United States, P.C.T. and other Patent Offices. His work has included providing validity and infringement opinions and assisting patent litigation lawyers in connection with a number of validity and infringement actions. Some noteworthy commercial inventions for which Peter has obtained patents include:

  • Syncrude pipeline conditioning of bitumen froth
  • AOSTRA SAGD oil recovery process
  • Petro-Canada software for use in determining reservoir boundary
  • Biomech computerized leg prosthesis
  • Corod continuous sucker rod equipment and process
  • Porta-Test pipeline centrifugal separators
  • McMillan-McGee electrical heating system for oil sands

Peter has also prepared and prosecuted to registration over 500 trademark applications and has participated in a number of opposition proceedings.
