David joined Parlee McLaws LLP as an associate in 2017 after previously working as a summer student in 2014 and completing his articles with the firm. Prior to joining Parlee McLaws, David graduated from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law with Distinction and was on the Dean’s List in both 2015 and 2016. During his articling year David gained experience in a wide range of litigation matters, including employment disputes, insurance defence, subrogated actions, commercial disputes, debt collection, class action lawsuits, and Aboriginal law.

David maintains a general litigation practice with a particular emphasis on employment and labour law, as well as insurance litigation.

David has acted for both employers and employees in a variety of employment matters, including wrongful dismissal actions and Human Rights Commission complaints. In addition, David has experience with drafting employment agreements and workplace policies.

David also has experience with insurance defence and subrogated claims, including motor vehicle accidents, fire losses, water losses, and occupier’s liability, as well as commercial litigation, including debt recovery and contract disputes.

David has advocated on behalf of clients before the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench (Masters and Justice Chambers), the Provincial Court of Alberta (Civil), and has trial experience in the Provincial Court of Alberta (Civil).
