Ashley is an Edmonton-based lawyer, focused on advocating for her clients. Her goal is to obtain early and satisfactory resolution of matters wherever possible, with an ultimate view to preparedness for taking matters to court.

Before joining Parlee McLaws in 2016, Ashley spent her first years as a lawyer practicing criminal defense and personal injury law. She gained significant courtroom experience defending clients against serious criminal charges including robbery, drug trafficking, and murder.

Ashley has conducted applications, trials, and appeals in all levels of Alberta Courts. As well, Ashley has experience resolving matters for clients through mediation and Judicial Dispute Resolution. She has also successfully appeared for clients at hearings of administrative tribunals in Alberta, including the Criminal Injuries Review Board and the Alberta Transportation Safety Board.

During law school, Ashley was an Associate Editor on the Board of Editors of the Queen’s Law Journal. She was also a student member of the Queen’s Correctional Law Project, representing federal penitentiary inmates at hearings of disciplinary courts and the Parole Board of Canada. Prior to attending Law School, Ashley worked for the Government of Alberta negotiating intergovernmental agreements on behalf of the provincial government.
