Alex joined Parlee McLaws LLP as an associate in 2016 and mainly practices in the area of labour and employment law. He also handles certain civil and insurance litigation matters.

Alex has advised and acted for both employers and employees in a wide variety of employment and labour based matters, including wrongful and constructive dismissal actions, privacy complaints, grievance arbitrations, human rights complaints, and Canada Labour Code and Alberta Employment Standards Code complaints. In addition, Alex regularly assists provincially and federally regulated employers with the preparation and vetting of all manner of employment and contractor agreements and workplace policies, as well as with a broad range of other employment, labour, disability, statutory compliance, and privacy related issues.

 Alex is also experienced with insurance defence, insurance coverage, and subrogated claims, including claims arising out of fire and water loss, negligent construction and design, product liability, and fraudulent claims.

 Alex has advocated on behalf of clients before the Alberta and B.C. Provincial Courts and the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, and he is well-versed in extra-judicial dispute resolution processes, including mediation and judicial dispute resolution.
