It’s an approach that has allowed us to build relationships based on trust, respect and results.Position ResponsibilitiesConduct court searchesDraft correspondence and court documentsCoordinate pre-trial and trial preparation including maintenance of all trial binders and limitation systemsPrepare a variety of legal documents including briefs and factumsSchedule various applications and questioningsManage workflow for team of lawyersCoordinate and schedule meetings and maintain calendarsPreparation of accounts and time entryComplete general administrative tasks including office and file management Position Qualifications & SkillsPost-secondary education from a recognized Legal Assistant programMinimum three (3) years of relative experience (An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered)Experience with Westlaw and/or CanLII would be an assetUnderstanding of basic accounting principlesIntermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office programsMust speak, read and write English fluentlyExcellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skillsExhibit attention to detail and is committed to producing accurate and high-quality workAbility to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines with a high degree of personal initiativeMust be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional mannerAbility to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independentlyStrong customer service and relationship building skillsReadily adapt to changing priorities and effectively work in a changing and high-volume work environmentPossess problem solving skills with a proactive mindset To thrive in this challenging and diverse role you are confident and assertive.
