Reporting to the Corporate Services Supervisor, our Edmonton office is seeking a Corporate Services Paralegal who will be responsible for:

• Prepares documents relating to incorporation, organization, amendments, and continuances.
• Prepares and arranges for filing of extra-provincial registrations and updates documents.
• Prepares documents for non-profit entities including incorporations, continuance/transitions, organizations, amendments, and dissolutions under Part 9 of the Companies Act, Societies Act and Not-for-profit Corporations Act.
• Prepares documents relating to share transactions including issuance of share certificates, and updates registers.
• Conducts minute book reviews and prepares necessary documents to bring minute books current.
• Accesses the Corporate Registry Systems (CORES) and completes filings of various corporate documents (Levels I and II).
• Has a desire to gain experience and knowledge with the goal of obtaining CORES level III down the road.
• Work overtime as required.
• Various other projects as time allows.

Requirements:

• CORES Levels I and II experience
• Post-secondary education from a recognized Paralegal or Legal Assistant program, or equivalent
• Minimum three (3) years of relative experience is an asset (An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered)
• Knowledge of Corporate Law and basic accounting principles required
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office programs
• Must speak, read and write English fluently
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
• Possess problem solving skills with a proactive mindset
• Exhibit attention to detail and is committed to producing accurate and high-quality work
• Ability to work independently within a fast paced team environment
• Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
