Parlee McLaws LLP is a well-established law firm with over 140 years of experience here in Alberta and we are looking for a full-time Accounting Clerk to join our Accounting Team in the Calgary Office for a 12-18 month maternity leave position. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who can hit the ground running. Position Overview The schedule for this position is 5 days/week from 8:00AM – 4:30PM, with 1-hour break and this position will be primarily office-based. You will be reporting to the Director of Finance and your day to day will include a multitude of tasks such as: Data entry of trust/firm cheques as well as processing, verification, and reconciliation Posting direct deposit and e-transfers, manual deposits Processing cheques and credit card payments Provide overall accounting and clerical support to the accounting department, including filing and scanning of documents Provide back-up to other support staff as required Requirements 3-5 years of previous related data entry and accounting support experience Successful completion of an accounting certificate or diploma would be an asset High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work Knowledge of an automated accounting software is required Experience in gathering data and compiling information Intermediate experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines with a high degree of personal initiative Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner Strong customer service skills and relationship building abilities Must read, speak, and write English fluently Sound like a good fit?
