Experience

Brent provides advice and guidance on commercial and financial litigation to a broad range of clients, including financial institutions, Receivers and Trustees in Bankruptcy, creditors and debtors, having particular experience with debtor-creditor, insolvency, commercial foreclosures, shareholder disputes and defamation claims.

In addition, Brent has represented various owners, construction professionals and trades in construction and real estate disputes including builders’ liens, construction deficiency claims, OH &S matters, real estate purchase contract disputes and arbitrations. Brent also advises employers and employees on a broad range of employment law matters including preparation of employment contracts, terminations and various employment policy issues, including disability and discipline matters.

Brent has appeared on various applications and trials before the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, argued appeals before the Court of Appeal of Alberta, appeared before the Superior Court and Divisional Court of Ontario, as well as the Federal Court. He has also represented clients on various private arbitrations and mediations.
