Experience

Before going to law school, Rhiannon held various positions in research labs and completed an M.Sc. in Neuroscience. Along the way, she also dedicated time to educating others about the wonders of science.  This experience makes her the ideal choice to assist start-up business and SMEs in the life sciences industry, navigating the various intellectual property issues that are vital to creating a solid legal foundation that protects valuable innovations.

Rhiannon enjoys working closely with clients, unraveling the complexities of intellectual property (“IP”) concepts and application. She excels in devising strategies to develop and expand IP portfolios, as well as effectively defending IP rights.

With over 10 years of experience with patents and trademarks, she offers comprehensive services that encompass not only the protection of inventions themselves, but also their branding.  Along with her passion for working with emerging and expanding companies in the life science industry, she boasts specific experience obtaining Official Marks for public authorities in Canada.

Outside the confines of her office, Rhiannon volunteers with the Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society, a vital part of the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation Her involvement with the Society dates back to its inception in 2017, where she played a pivotal role as a Founding Member. Presently, she serves as the Co-Chair of the Steering Committee. The Society raises funds that support various projects and needs of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women in Edmonton.
