Banking & Financial Services Lawyer Calgary, Alberta top

The Partner/Associate will be instrumental in the successful development, expansion and operation of the Banking and Financial Services practice group.  Specific accountabilities include:

- Advising on legal aspects of lending and recovery for both lenders and borrowers;
- Providing pragmatic, cost-effective counsel on the best ways to strucutre, secure and enforce every kind of credit facility;
- Maintaining leading-edge awareness of Canadian banking regulations and practices so as to ensure that clients receive superior legal advice, guidance and service;
- Providing a level of understanding of commercial transactions that will ensure that all legal issues are assessed from a commercial perspective;
- Maintaining a constant awareness of the banking regulations and practices for Alberta and develop a network of contacts in the respective legal communities;
- Taking a significant, leading, role in the negotiation and successful resolution of legal contracts, agreements and related matters, and;
- Actively marketing the firm's services to lending and financial institutions.

The Individual

- A minimum of 10 years experience in Banking and Financial Services Law, with the ability to bring an established book of business.
- The ability to adhere to the firm's core values of honesty and integrity, firm first behaviour excellence in client service, teamwork, leadership and effective practice management.
- A history of managing strong relationships and engaging multiple stakeholder groups;
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively, with excellent presentation skills;
- An ability to analyze issues and use sound judgement to bring problems to resolution;
- An effective leader with the ability to motivate, coach and develop associates, and;
- An ability to delegate tasks while remaining engaged in projects and processes.



Oil & Gas Lawyer Calgary, Alberta top

The Associate will be instrumental in the successful operation of the Oil and Gas practice area.  The prime responsibility is providing seamless, integrated legal services specific to Alberta-owned or based companies with natural resources-related operations around the world.  Specific accountabilities include:

- Advising on legal aspects of natural resources regulatory regime;
- Providing a level of understanding of commercial transactions that will ensure that all legal issues are assessed from a commercial perspective;
- Maintaining a constant awareness of natural resources regulations and practices for Alberta and developing a network of contacts in the respective legal communities;
- Taking a significant, leading role in the negotiation of legal transactions, and;
- Actively marketing the firm's services to senior executives and key change agents within Oil and Gas corporations throughout the Alberta market.

The Individual

- A minimum of 5 years experience in Natural Resources Law, with the ability to bring an established book of business;
- A strong understanding of oil and gas financing, operations, contracts and litigation;

- A history of managing strong relationships and engaging multiple stakeholder groups;

The Partner/Associate will be instrumental in the successful operation of the Securities practice area.  The prime responsibility is working with stakeholders and regulators to achieve results for clients on extremely tight deadlines.  Specific accountabilities include:

- Advising on legal aspects of securities regulatory regime;
- Providing a level of understanding of commercial transactions that will ensure that all legal issues are assessed from a commercial perspective;
- Maintaining a constant awareness of securities regulations and practices for Alberta and developing a network of contacts in the respective legal communities;
- Taking a significant, leading role in the negotiation of legal transactions, and;
- Actively marketing the firm's services to senior executives and key change agents within corporations throughout the Alberta market.

The Individual
